KeyTweak is a powerful After Effects script to modify many keyframes of a property at once. It can be used, for example, to refine a rotoscoping mask without the need to touch every single keyframe separately: Just correcet a few keyframes by hand and KeyTweak adjusts the remaining keyframes accordingly. KeyTweak is not limited to masks, but also works with other keyframed properties. You can also use it to correct drifting tracks.

KeyTweak […] achieves the seemingly impossible: Edit a keyframed mask globally simply by points on one or two mask keyframes, and the rest are automagically changed 'accordingly'.

Wow this maybe the most productive After Effects script I've come across!! Adobe should pay you for it, and integrate it as a stand feature!

Hard to believe after all these years, that Adobe didn't make this part of AE.
I have a couple of problems though:
1) The visualization of the vertex points isn't always visible, so I added a line to the script to correct that.
In "function getRadius" I put the following at the end:
"radius = Math.max(radius,5);"
With this, I can always see the vertex that is selected.
I see what you were trying to do with that function, but it doesn't always result in a visible circle.
2) After executing either "KeyTweak" or "Tracker2Mask," if I hit the space bar, it executes again. This is very annoying. Is there some way the scripts can put the focus on something else after they execute so that this won't happen.
Also, and this should be easy, if you update the visualization after a "Tweak" then the red circle(s) will be positioned correctly after the vertices move.
By the way, I'm on Windows7 with AE CS4.
Thanks for a great script!
Concerning 2) I think there is unfortunately no way to change the focus to some other element.
The entire thing with the circles is also more like a workaround since scripts can unfortunately not determine whether certain mask vertices are selected or not.
If you want KeyTweak to be included in AE directly, definitely submit a feature request here. This would be great and it simply matters how many people request it!
Where I "key tweak" it to download?
2) click on blue "add to card button"
3) pay what you want
yes, I would use the global mode of KeyTweak for this
Let me know whether it works for you!
I copied the mask from the left eye composition and pasted this mask into the right eye composition. I removed most of the key frames from this - and adjusted the position of the mask.
I then selected both masks - and did as you indicated in your email and I got the following message:
"Select exactly two properties (i.e the original property and its modified copy)"
I am not sure how to select the two masks any differently. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Chris
oh, yes, you need to select the two mask shape properties (the properties where you actually have the keyframes) not the entire masks groups.
Cheers,
Mathias
Thanks for your help. I am indeed trying this - selecting the mask - and just the mask shape. But I get the same message each time.
