There are many different ways how to connect properties using Linking iExpressions. After watching these quick tips you know exactly which Linking iExpression to use in what situation.
Simple Link iExpressions
Simple Links connect some property to the value of some other property. This is similar to creating expressions using the pick-whip but you have much more options. You can, for example, create time delayed links, scale or offset your links. There exists a simple link for 1D properties (e.g. opacity or rotation), 2D properties (e.g. position or scale of 2D layers), 3D properties (like position or orientation of 3D layers) and even the source texts of text layers.

Limited Time Parent iExpressions
Limited Time Parent iExpressions are similar to normal parenting but with two essential differences
- the parenting is only active for a limited (user specified) range in time
- instead of connecting position, scale, and rotation all simultaneously, with the iExpressions you can link each property individually.
As Simple Links, Limited Time Parenting iExpressions come in three flavors for 1D, 2D, and 3D properties.

Separate Link iExpressions
Separate Link iExpressions allow to connect the different elements of a property with more than one value (e.g. the x and y value of the position of a 2D layer) to different properties. Hence, a layer can follow one layer in x direction and another one in y dimension. For 3D layers, also a 3D variant exists.

Average Link iExpressions
Average Links connect a property to two other properties. The result is then always the average, i.e. the middle of the two linked values. This is useful if you want some value to always be in between two other values.
